Teaching Experience: I taught middle school Science for 13 years and this year is my third year of teaching at Myers Park High School. I will be teaching Earth and Environmental Science. I am originally from a small place called Pascagoula, Mississippi. While in the sixth grade, my family relocated to Terre Haute, Indiana. I had the pleasure of graduating from DePauw University, which is located in Greencastle, Indiana. While at DePauw, I enjoyed playing college football and getting involved with many community service programs. After college, I taught in Indianapolis for a year. six years ago, I completed my Master's Degree in Educational Leadership at Wingate University. I am very excited about teaching High School. MP, You Know!!
When I am not at School: I enjoy supporting my favorite football team, the Green Bay Packers. My wife was born in Madison, Wisconsin so packer football is a way of life for our family, Go pack Go! Personally, when I have a minute, I love to watch movies. I also try to stay in shape, which has become more difficult after becoming a daddy. My son will turn 5 years old this December. My wife and I also like to hike, raft, and camp.
Over the summer: I caught up with family in both Indiana and Wisconsin. I also spent time with my yellow lab named Gilligan and our new cat, Skipper. My wife and I grew up together in Indiana. She also teaches Science at Myers Park High School. My wife and I work at Indiana State University helping education students develop their teaching skills. I am sure that you will hear about my son, the human tornado, Bronson. You can see pictures of our little man in the slide show below.
This School Year: High School can be a little intimidating and overwhelming, but do not get discouraged. Being faced with new challenges is a great opportunity to grow. I am looking forward to helping my students work towards their potential at Myers Park High School. I am excited about the school year and getting to know my new students. I am sure that your students will come home with stories to tell about my Science class.
